Hello everyone! Welcome to Styled For Spring Home Tours hosted by Jenna from Wife In Progress. And for all you visiting for the first time from My Life From Home welcome to Bisozozo. As some of you might know, i rarely decorate according to the season. But after a long winter staying home with our baby girl changing the decor is refreshing! And since i’m just a usually budgetless SAHM Trying To Decorate this was a challenge. I did what i usually do: shop our home, mostly. So, without further ado here’s our budget friendly spring home tour.
With 2 young ones around here it’s a bit difficult to keep anything nice and tidy. We agreed on me keeping the mantel, dining room and entrance area. I try keeping these ones decorated the way i like and always have the living room full of toys. Eclectic mess spring home tour! Get it now?
Once you enter our small apartment you see our dining area. The star of the house is the plasterboard frame my poor husband built a few years ago. Every time i change it , like this and this, the entire place looks new, since it’s pretty big as you have noticed. Lately i painted the plaster and frames using a gorgeous greige from Fusion Mineral, Putty. I printed the botanical illustrations from PlantCurator and everything looked prettier. You will always find fresh flowers on the dining table. My florist always creates beautiful small bouquets for me. I use a clear teapot as a vase. A small bird figurine and a gorgeous candle from H&M complete our table vignette. Since we want things practical i have placed all 3 of them in a clear cake stand. Makes it easier to move them.
What i also love is that wire flower next to the console lamp. I turn it around, from gold to red petals, every now and then. Feels like i’ve gone shopping!
I did not make big changes to our, God make it, entrance. Just replaced the woven clay bowl with an old plate, which i had covered in fabric, to serve as a catch all bowl.
I made most of the changes to our mantel. I had kids photos there. 5 frames, a wire tree and a candleholder. I only kept the candleholder and replaced the black with a white candle. I used ribbon for making a small wreath. I love the look of the ribbon weaved this way. You can see all about it at this YouTube video. Added some shine and ready it was. The small metal tree was a wedding favor.
I used one of the frames to place a gold butterfly my grandma has made with her ownd hands. She’s a talent. I only bought the 2 glass eggs. I found them at the convenience store in my hometown. I always find treasures there. And on the left mantel side i placed the glass vase which carried the oil from our baby girl’s Christening and put some flowers in it. The mantel looks brighter now, althought abit empty, and i do have to paint that mirror matte gold.
I left the best of all for the grand finale…the living room! Yes, it’s a mess but i love it (usually)! The styrofoam eggs are hand painted by our older one.
